The roots of Affect reach back to 2018 when Bernard and David came together to form the design division.
Both had a shared vision to create a leading concept and design firm and the consequent business partnership was an organic evolution born out of friendship and mutual respect.
In fact, the same can be said of their client relationships; each project is based on a foundation of rapport and trust.
Today, the pair run a full-time team from their New York office, but they still both oversee every project and are keenly hands-on. That core collaboration remains the cornerstone of the company.
Bernard has over 12 years of experience in the construction and hospitality sectors, overseeing the development of multiple one-off concepts and involvement in large scale mixed-use developments in Ireland and the UK.
His achievements include a key role as a Quantity Surveyor from inception for Harcourt Developments, Titanic Quarter in Belfast, Europe’s largest waterfront regeneration project. Most recently he has overseen PMac Hospitality Group’s New York expansion, managing the concept development, design, build, and operations for their multi-unit portfolio.
Recently completed projects include Mortimer House (London), The Beekman Hotel (NYC), Perry Lane Hotel (Savannah), Café Boulud (Toronto), Darby’s (London), and Sefton (NYC).
